ISLAMABAD – The Islamabad police have refused to lodged case against US national Cynthia Dawn Ritchie for leveling allegations against former prime minister Benazir Bhutto, Dunya News reported on Friday.
According to details, Additional District and Sessions Judge Zeba Chaudhry conducted hearing of a petition filed by a citizen – Waqas Abbasi.
The plaintiff had requested the court to order the police to lodge a case against the US national for hurling obscene accusations against the former premier.
The police took the stance that it is the Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) case as Cynthia Dawn Ritchie used the platform of social media and the mater does not fall under the police’s jurisdiction.
The claimant’s counsel argued that the Islamabad police are making excuses and hold the authority to file a case against the US citizen. The court summoned detailed answer from police till June 17.
